On the use of the word "Army"
I've received a couple of comments around my use of the term "Army" ---
--- and one of my current clients told me recently that she was pretty triggered by it, too.
I'll tell you why I use it --- and why it has everything to do with rebirthing our Divine Feminine energy on the planet...
✨
An interesting thing happened in the beginning of my business --- when I began talking about Feminine Energy,
MOST PEOPLE took issue with the term.
Women, in particular, bristled at the word "Feminine" --- feeling deep rejection and offense about this word that they didn't want to identify with;
something they had come to associate with soft, weak, submissive;
something they saw as having to do with floral patterns, frilly dresses, high-heels or the color pink;
something they associated with non-athleticism, non-Power, non-{insert whatever activity or belief they feel incredibly passionate about}.
I had friends, and even my boyfriend, tell me they felt I should use a different word when talking about this work --- that I don't have to use the word "Feminine" because it's so triggering.
I also had an intuitive tell me I'd have trouble with the word "Army" in my brand --- that it might put some people off; might make them not want to join me in this work.
And I didn't listen to either of them.
Why?
Because one of the very things we're working to shift is the Wounded Masculine CONDITIONING around things that it says should be rejected, that it says are "not okay"...
things that, in their Essence, are inherently neither Good nor Bad; neither Strong nor Soft...
...but which the Wounded Masculine Patriarchy has given CONNOTATION to through its Fear-based and Separation-fueled usage:
"Army" doesn't only mean the militant, aggressive, warring faction of a government ---
--- it also means, simply, "a group of people banding together for a common purpose."
"Feminine" doesn't have anything to do with the clothes we wear, how we do our hair, the chores or hobbies we take on, or the amount of Power we have or don't have ---
--- it is an ancient, forgotten Archetype (and a massively powerful one, by the way) that has been squashed, reviled, vilified --- by the very Patriarchy that uses "Army" in only its one, combatant meaning.
✨
Whose world do I want to live in?
The one that denigrates otherwise beautiful energies, powers, symbols and words to their own agendas and benefit?
Or the one that cares more about the energy BEHIND how these things are used --- the Love or the Separation which with they're used ---
--- the one that stands for Wholeness and Unity, and gives everything a place at the table ---
--- the one that doesn't outright banish or reject or vilify ANY of it simply based on the loudest voice in the room?
I will always choose the latter.
And --- while you certainly don't have to join me in this thinking, I would love to see us all take back the twisting of meaning that we've been living under in this Wounded Masculine paradigm:
So, where there's any word or symbol or anything else that triggers you out-of-hand --- I simply invite you to take a look at the deeper meaning, the one before the Patriarchy got its hands on it --- and see if you can find the Beauty there, too.
