The trick for staying 'up' in the 'downs'
I was just doing my morning meditation / mindset practice, and I had a something come up for me that I wanted to offer to all of you, too...
There are always ups and downs.
The ups feel amaaaaazing.
We feel on fire. We feel in our power. We feel like we're pumping on all cylinders, the Universe loves us, everything's happening in divine order, and we're on top of the world.
Feel free to add any other idioms to that list.
Shit feels GOOD.
And then the lull.
That four-letter word that causes us to wonder what we're doing wrong, why it's gone so quiet, if we really have it in us to make it or to have what we want.
Self-doubt springs into action.
We start to look for all of the things we might need to be DOING in order to get the engines firing again -- do more, more, more! That's clearly what's needed right now!
DO! MORE! Or you'll never make it!
But what if that's the exact opposite of what we should be doing in that lull?
What if, instead of looking at the ebbs and flows of your love life, your business, your social life, your fitness, your energy levels --- what if you started to look at it as cycles of breath?
You have to inhale in order to exhale, right?
You have to replenish and still the force of your breath in order to push out again powerfully; in order to keep breathing, period.
And if you're a fellow yogini out there, you'll have a very strong understanding of this:
You know the power of the breath, and how each part of it (the inhale, the hold, the exhale, the hold) has value, meaning and purpose.
Stop worrying when there's a lull.
The Universe is just breathing.
